Excerpt from "Beyond the Green Door"

An Urban Fantasy Erotic Romance

The door closed of its own accord with a soft click behind her. All fell silent. How very curious, not a sound from the Mardi Gras reached her ears. Had she stepped into another world? ..........

He stopped abruptly, reached for her and kissed her soundly. Thunder rolled and lightning flashed behind her eyelids. A hot flame of heat and desire tore through her, spreading outward to every limb.
Almost as suddenly, he released her and looked into her eyes. “I have wanted to do that since I found you again.” Sherry brought a hand to her lips and attempted to force the words from her throat. Before she had a chance, he kissed her again, the depth of his passion nearly crumbling her. “If I had more time, little one, I would force your memory to return by making love to you."
"We . . . we were lovers?"
"Much more," he whispered against her lips and soon I will prove it to you." He gripped her hand again. "Enough talk for now; we must hurry.”
They came to a portal which appeared to be constructed of solid rock. Chardon ran his powerful hands over the stones and stopped them near a ledge above the door. Like magic, the monstrous stones parted, and a flash of light entered the dark confines. Chardon pulled her through the opening and onto a narrow ledge as the stones rolled shut behind them.
Another alien world came into Sherry's view, this one not as sinister as the last. Dusk had settled over the land and tall oil lamps lit the busy streets. En masse creatures mingled with humans, and vendors stood at the entrance of colorful tents selling their wares. The vibrant, industrious village embodied the same carnival-like atmosphere of the Mardi Gras in Rio.
“Wait here,” Chardon said and disappeared into the bustling crowd.
Moments later, he returned with a pair of lightweight cloaks in hand. He tossed one over Sherry's shoulders, drew the cowl up over her head and planted a kiss to the tip of her nose.
“Thank-thank you," she said stammering, affected deeply by his kiss. "Why did you cover my head?”
His eyes darkened. “With your bright hair, you'll stand out like a beacon." He ran his hand down her sides, the subtle gesture setting her knees to tremble. "Can a man not buy a gift for his woman?”
Chardon unbuckled his breastplate, dropped it to the ground, and threw the other cloak about his massive shoulders. While fastening it at the throat with a gold pin, he offered her a warm smile. An image of Lachlan surfaced again, and just like her beloved, the stranger before her was a perfect mix of Greek God and untamed beast. His skin glistened in the heat, and suddenly she realized his dark hair was much longer than she originally thought. An intoxicating aura of masculinity radiated from his muscled body.
Lost in her own thoughts about the decadent man, his grin jolted her back to reality. "It warms my heart to know you still like what you gaze upon."
Heat rose in her cheeks and she looked away
He took her hand again and pulled her through the crowd.
Beginning to feel like an animal on a leash, she dug her heels into the ground and brought him to a halt. “Wait! If these people are as peaceful as you claim, why did they attempt to sacrifice me?” ....... :-)
